The small apartment was designed by our interior designers for a university student. The boy’s mother approached the Flamingo Interiors team and requested our assistance in redesigning the newly built apartment, where her son and his partner would later move in.

CHALLENGE
During the interior design process, the biggest challenge was creating a functional bedroom and sufficient storage space. We had to rework the space, transforming a slanted and partially separated sleeping nook into a standalone, smaller bedroom. The kitchen furniture assembly also consisted of various, mismatched elements. Previously, parts of the kitchen were placed next to each other in a way that was impractical and uncomfortable for everyday use. Our interior designers envisioned and executed the plans seen here, creating a cozy bedroom and a modern kitchen that is both functional and easy to use in daily life.
The concept
In this project, the main direction was a modern, minimalist style with a touch of luxury, which is most prominently reflected in the materials and custom-designed furniture. Our interior designers’ plans allowed us to create an environment where elegance and modern style are noticeable right from the entrance. Using high-quality furniture boards to create custom-built furniture, we made the space visually striking while maximizing the use of every wall surface.
In the open-plan kitchen and living area, the functions are well defined. The kitchen provides ample space for daily use, with the premium PerfectSense matte boards adding a luxurious touch. The centerpiece of the kitchen is the countertop, made from the Technistone Dekton product range, ensuring that cooking becomes a true pleasure after the installation. Both the kitchen wall and the living room’s back wall feature premium Italian-quality Marazzi tiles, adding sophistication to the space.
The comfortable, airy, and elegant atmosphere was further enhanced by a custom partition. We love working with the Kaindl manufacturer because we never experience disappointment with the final results and the quality. The Kaindl partition made from their boards is particularly special because it is rotatable, allowing us to create a fully closed wall section when the slats are turned, offering flexibility and style in the design.
bedroom
Due to the extremely limited space, the bedroom was designed to be just 8.5 m² in total. The designers and planners at Flamingo Interiors aimed to ensure that, despite the small size, the bedroom would still feel airy and spacious. This was achieved with the use of a rotating slatted partition. Above the double French bed, we installed a wall-to-wall shelving unit, providing additional storage space. To create a warm and cozy atmosphere, we chose a Casadeco wallpaper behind the bed, which is both exciting and elegantly restrained. Where the slatted partition meets the wall, we identified a small underutilized area, which allowed us to add a wardrobe, further maximizing storage in the room.
Living room
The living room wall section doesn’t close at a right angle, so we designed custom-made furniture for that area as well. This allowed us to create a small home office corner for the university student, using the same type of furniture panel. All the cabinets along the entire wall were made from Egger PerfectSense panels, ensuring a seamless and modern design.
At the center of the room, there’s an Italian-quality, pull-out Samoa Divani sofa, which separates the kitchen from the living room. The sofa can be converted into a bed, providing a convenient space for hosting guests. On the wall behind the TV, the lamella material reappears, crafted from the same Kaindl material as the room divider. The bronze wall panel then divides the cold cladding from the lamella, allowing the interior designers to introduce a touch of glamorous style into the space.
KITCHEN
The original location of the kitchen was not changed, only expanded. The L-shaped cabinetry was designed along a nearly 5-meter-long wall. In addition to the dishwasher, refrigerator, and built-in oven/microwave in the tall cabinet, a washing machine was also incorporated into the design. The kitchen wall features the same Marazzi marble-effect large tiles as the wall behind the TV, ensuring the two materials are consistent in both style and color. The built-in oven/microwave in the tall cabinet slightly breaks up the uniform surface, allowing the washing machine to function separately from the rest of the kitchen. The Technistone Dekton heat-resistant countertops are not only beautiful and elegant but also versatile, suitable for any kitchen style and interior design. The bronze faucets further enhance the glamorous effect.
